Sticky Bun Glaze


To make your favourite candy dough recipe into sticky buns, use the next recipe for Sticky Bun Glaze. Thanks to readers’ comments beneath, we’ve got up to date the recipe (as of August, 2011) to make use of extra butter, which is able to produce extra, stickier glaze. Note that whilst you combine the sugars and butter in combination they will be dry and crumbly; that is OK. As the buns bake, the sugars and butter will soften in combination to shape a glaze.

At a look

five to eight batches sticky buns


  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • half cup Sticky Bun Sugar
  • half cup brown sugar

  • three oz. butter, melted
  • four oz. chopped pecans
  • 2 oz. Sticky Bun Sugar
  • four oz. brown sugar

  • 85g butter, melted
  • 113g chopped pecans
  • 57g Sticky Bun Sugar
  • 113g brown sugar


  1. Grease your pan(s), or spray with non-stick vegetable oil spray.
  2. Spread the melted butter in a 14″ spherical pan, or two nine” spherical pans. Sprinkle the nuts over the butter.
  3. Combine Sticky Bun and brown sugars, and sprinkle flippantly into the pan(s).
  4. Place the buns within the ready pan(s), reduce aspects down. Continue along with your recipe as directed.
