Quite awhile ago I wrote about making your own make up remover wipes. It was killing me to pay the high price of the ones sold in the stores. Lately, however, a couple of other things have been bothering me about the whole taking off makeup thing!
First, I’m continually searching for ways in which to exchange disposable things with reusable ones in my home. And second, I desire my skin desires one thing richer, with a lot of emollients, for beginning my makeup. thus I spent quite an little bit of time looking for and developing a rather totally different makeup removal system, that i believe i’m aiming to sort of a LOT!
First I created some REUSABLE conjure remover pads. They’re simple to build (minimal stitching needed,) and build good sense as a replacement for disposable wipes.
I thought a nice, soft flannel would be the best fabric to make them out of. A spare flannel shirt or pillowcase works perfectly!
I patterned a dozen pads ought to be enough, therefore I cut out thirty six squares of an equivalent size. Then I assembled very little flannel “sandwiches,” with 3 layers every. (The middle layer is simply for other softness and permeableness.)
Sew three of the sides together, then trim the corners.
Then flip it inside out so the seams are on the inside.
Now fold the 4th side edges under and top stitch closed.
Finished product! Less than perfectly shaped, but just fine with me!
Now I required one thing to use ON the reusable pads. I searched and searched and hunted for a homespun eye structure remover with the proper ingredients on behalf of me. I finally selected the subsequent “recipe.”
Homemade Makeup Remover
- 1 cup distilled water
- 1 1/2 tablespoons baby shampoo (no tears)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- A few drops of your favorite essential oil (optional.) I used Lavender.
I dissolved the vegetable oil within the microwave simply till it liquified, then place all the ingredients into a jar and cask to include everything along.
Not solely did this makeup remover work quickly and simply in starting off even my eye makeup, it left my skin feeling super soft and moisturized! The formula uses quite little bit of vegetable oil, however you’ll simply change the quantity of vegetable oil to fit your own skin.
I have alittle mesh laundry bag with a zipper that I bought for a while back to place “delicates” sure laundry. I simply put the used pads in there and keep the bag during a drawer till I’m at the tip of my “stash.” I then throw the total factor within the washer and begin everywhere again!
There it is….my new “make up removal system”. would like I’d patterned it out a protracted time ago! Now I suppose it desires a name…and perhaps it’s own infomercial! 😉
