These comfortable, buttery scones characteristic a thick, wealthy swirl of cinnamon thru their middle. Because in their wet cinnamon filling, they continue to be cushy and recent longer than maximum scones.

Ingredients

Cinnamon Filling

  • three/four cup Baker’s Cinnamon Filling
  • 2 tablespoons water

Dough

  • three cups King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
  • 0.33 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • half teaspoon salt
  • half cup (eight tablespoons) butter, minimize into chunks
  • 1 massive egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup evaporated milk or part & part
  • 1 cup cinnamon chips (not obligatory)

Topping

  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 2 tablespoons white glowing sugar, Demerara sugar, or cinnamon-sugar

Cinnamon Filling

  • four oz Baker’s Cinnamon Filling
  • 1 ounce water

Dough

  • 12 three/four oz King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 three/eight oz sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • half teaspoon salt
  • four oz butter, minimize into chunks
  • 1 massive egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • eight oz evaporated milk or part & part
  • 6 oz cinnamon chips (not obligatory)

Topping

  • half ounce milk
  • 7/eight ounce white glowing sugar, Demerara sugar, or cinnamon-sugar

Cinnamon Filling

  • 113g Baker’s Cinnamon Filling
  • 28g water

Dough

  • 361g King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
  • 67g sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • half teaspoon salt
  • 113g butter, minimize into chunks
  • 1 massive egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 227g evaporated milk or part & part
  • 170g cinnamon chips (not obligatory)

Topping

  • 14g milk
  • 25g white glowing sugar, Demerara sugar, or cinnamon-sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F. Lightly grease a baking sheet, or line it with parchment.
  2. To make the cinnamon filling: Stir in combination the Baker’s Cinnamon Filling Mix and the water to make a clean paste. Set it apart.
  3. To make the dough: Combine the dry components and minimize within the butter, blending to make abnormal crumbs.
  4. In a small bowl or cup, mix in combination the egg, vanilla, and milk.
  5. Add this to the dry components, at the side of the cinnamon chips, and stir with a fork till the dough simply comes in combination.
  6. Turn the sticky mass out onto a floured paintings floor and knead it gently into a coarse 10″ sq. or circle.
  7. Here comes the mud-pie section. Spread the cinnamon filling over the dough, masking as a lot of the skin as conceivable with out being too persnickety about it. Now, fold the dough over on itself a couple of occasions to make a large mound, and to surround the filling.
