Chocolate Snack Cake Filling

C

This fluffy filling is a dead ringer for chocolatey filling you’d find inside a filled cupcake. We use it in our Peanut Butter Whoopie Pies, but if you wanted to create your own chocolate-filled or frosted snack cake, this recipe will give you a topping that can stand up to the lunchbox commute without melting or running.

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 85g semisweet chocolate chips
  • 113g heavy cream

  • 92g vegetable shortening
  • 454g sifted glazing sugar OR confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 tablespoon additonal heavy cream, if needed
